Grace Nono is a Filipino singer, known for her musical style based on traditional Filipino rhythms.[1]
Nono was born in in Agusan, Mindanao.[2] She holds a bachelor’s degree in Humanities and a Master's degree in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines.[3]
Nono released her debut album "Tao Music", described as "rooted in traditional Filipino rhythms and instrumentation but given modern touches",[1] in 1993. She has won the Katha award for Best World Music Album three times.[1]
Nono is executive director of the Tao Foundation for Culture and Arts and has taught Philippine traditional arts at the University of the Philippines.[4]
